Open to the public since June 2011, this 300 m² building benefits from all the latest museum display technology in order to allow you to share all the secrets of the Truffle, the most mysterious of mushrooms, through a varied and recreational experience.
Passing through a series of themed exhibition spaces, providing slideshows and interactive audiovisual media, you will discover the history of the precious mushroom, its environment and its culture, the harvesting, marketing and its history through the centuries. How it has been developed, its gastronomical uses, etc ., you will end your visit in our boutique dedicated entirely to the black diamond.
The young audience hasn’t been forgotten, an illustrated quiz by Trufet allows children to discover and share the museum experience with their parents, providing an exciting and unique tour.
The House of Truffles was conceived to become a principle factor in the development of truffle production at both departmental and regional levels. It is intended as a promotional tool in the revitalisation of the truffle industry. For this reason, the Aude Association of Truffle Producers is naturally attached to this structure and offers the sale of fresh truffles during the producing season.
This website is also dedicated to companies wishing to work on collaboration with its participants.
A tourist information centre will guide through all the activities available in our beautiful region.
